Review of Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure 1.0 -

I bought the Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure 1.0 during the Mazda owners’ workshop that I attended recently. I’ve been using the SHARP Plasmacluster Air Ionizer IG-CC15B in my car for the past three years. However, the SHARP Plasmacluster Air Ionizer IG-CC15B is an ioniser and not an air purifier. I’ve also been keen to try the XiaoMi’s car air purifier but its size (as big as the headrest of a seat in a car) has been stopping me from getting it. Nevertheless, the wait for the right car air purifier paid off with the good deal found at the Mazda owners’ workshop. Only for those attending the workshop, the distributors of the Blaupunkt in-car camera was selling the Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure AP 1.0 for only S$98 instead of the usual S$169. I took the last piece of available stock during the workshop as sales were good.

The Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure AP1.0 provides a 3 stage/filter filtration that cleans the air while you are driving in your car. The 3-stage consists of 1: Filter layer captures big particles such as human hair, pet dander, dust, etc; 2: Hepa Filter layer removes fine particles as small as 0.3 μm such as airborne allergens that comprises of microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, and pollen; 3: Activated Carbon Filter layer is used to remove strong odour, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and hazardous gases in the air. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) that are present in the car comprises of polymers, foam, upholstery, adhesive, carpet, coating and composite wood. There is also an Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamp that runs when the Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure AP1.0 is turned on to target airborne germs & bacteria that manage to pass through the 3 stage filters. If you like aromatherapy, the Blaupunkt Air Purifier AirPure AP1.0 has a small Polypropylene Cotton aroma holder that allows you to a few drops of your favourite essential oils to allow a hint of aroma to infuse into the sterilized air.
