Review of Lego 7959 Geonosian Starfighter

The Lego 7959 Geonosian Starfighter was released this year by Lego as part of their June 2011 Star Wars Series.  I got it during the usual Metro 20% discount sales at around S$64.  There is another 5% rebate in store vouchers after the 20% discount.

This set comes with the fighter and 3 new minifigs, something that I’m looking for to add to my collection.  🙂  Here’s what is included in the package.

Not too sure why, but Lego chose to put the 2 pieces for the front of the Starfighter separately rather than put them together with the bricks packages.   Oh yah.  This set doesn’t come with stickers.  All the necessary bricks are printed which is something good. 🙂

It took me about 30 mins to finish up the whole assembly.  Not too difficult in my opinion and the pieces are also not that many.  Here’s how the completed set looks like.

The 3 minifigs that came along are Ki-Adi-Mundi, Clone Commander Cody and Geonosian Pilot.  Ki-Adi-Mundi and Geonosian Pilot are more unique due to their specially made heads.

For Clone Commander Cody, he is very similar to the other Clone Commanders that I got from the previous sets.

As a whole, would say the set is so-so only.  Only thing that I think makes this set worthwhile to get are the 2 special minifigs.  Hence, would give a 6 out of 10 for this set.
