This is the review of 8833 LEGO Minifigures Series 8 which was released in Oct 2012 in Singapore. But frankly, I think a photo sharing blog would sound more appropriate as AFOL WhiteFang has done a very good review of this series in EuroBricks even before it was released in Singapore.
For this series, I pre-ordered my box from Amazon France when it came out sometime in August/September 2012. The prices then was very much more attractive compared with getting a box in Singapore. Including shipping, I think I paid less than SGD$170 as I ordered 2 boxes to share the shipping with ShadowAndy.
In each box of Series 8, the following are what you will find.
- 5 Evil Robots
- 4 Conquistadors
- 3 Lederhosen Guys
- 4 Cowgirls
- 4 Football Players
- 3 Divers
- 3 Downhill Skiers
- 3 Businessmen
- 3 Fairies
- 4 Santa(s)
- 4 Vampire Bats
- 5 DJs
- 4 Cheerleaders
- 3 Actors
- 5 Pirate Captains
- 3 Alien Villainesses
This means that you can only form a maximum of 3 complete sets of 16 with the rest of the 12 as spares. In the upcoming Series 9, LEGO drop the number of complete sets to 2 making it more challenging for army collectors of some of the Minifigures. In any case, for Series 8, my favorite are the Diver and the Conquistadors which I intend to Army build them if possible. But at the point of writing of this blog, some how, Series 8 seems to be missing in actions in the usual haunts of Minifigure collection locations in Singapore. Hopefully they will surface out again with Series 9 is released in early 2013.
Here are some of my marco shots of Series 8 to share with everyone.
