Was sick for a couple of days last week so didn’t manage to work on this review till now.
The 7598 LEGO Toy Story Pizza Planet Truck Rescue was actually released by Lego in line with the Disney Toy Story 3 movie. Personally I’ve not seen the movie itself but just thought that the sets released by Lego is very cute and that prompts me to start my collection of the Toy Story series and luckily the sets from the previous releases are still quite readily available then.
The size of the box itself is smaller than that of the 7593 LEGO Toy Story Buzz’s Star Command Ship. Something quite surprising seeing the design of the set. During assembly, then i realised why is this so. Interestingly, the designer of the set chose to build the Pizza Planet Truck from bricks and smaller parts rather than to have big pre-fabicated parts, something that Lego Fans will like. The front and rear of the box looks as follows.
In the box, there are 4 packages, the instruction booklet and a seperate pack for the dinosaur. Something additional that we don’t get to see very often in the sets is a special instruction / note to warn users not to use the Firing Pizza weapon with other “ammunitions” beside the pizzas provided and also to warn parents that this must be used under supervision.
This set took me around 1 hour to complete. Not very difficult given that the different parts of the set has already been put into proper packages. The outcome looks like this.
The crew of the set. Cute right? 🙂 Especially the Dinosaur and the Pig.. Of cos, not forgeting the standard little alien. My third one so far. 😀
Looking under the hood, there is a the mechanism for the loading of the pizza “ammo”. The set comes with 6 pieces of pizzas and you can shoot them out by using the release mechanism at the back of the vehicle. The top of the driver’s cabin carries a rocket whereas the top of the rear cabin can be open so that the cute Dinosaur can stick his head out while in the vehicle.
Here’s how the gang looks like when all loads into the pizza truck 😀
Overall, the set is quite fun to build and play. I would give it a 8 out of 10 for the fun it brings about during and even after assembly.
